Dear colleagues
I have the distinct honor of serving as the President of the Balkan Geophysical Society and to welcome you at the 11th edition of the Congress of the Balkan Geophysical Society, which is the first edition to take place completely online.
We feel sorry for not having the 11th Congress as a venue-based event, but we will provide you with the best virtual opportunities to attend sessions, meet exhibitors, and network with other delegates.
The BGS Congress is not confined to the Balkan borders and actually, I might say that we are without borders when it comes to geoscience & serving society with our knowledge. Therefore, our Technical Programme provides a multi-disciplinary perspective on current practice and research in progress in various fields and welcomes contributions from all over the world.
Having a positive impact on our community, society, and the environment is a high priority, therefore dedicated sessions on these topics and research infrastructure for a Resilient Future is part of our Technical Program.
I also take this opportunity to acknowledge the EAGE and the SEG for supporting the event as well as expressing my appreciation to all the event partners and members of the BGS2021 Committees and Romanian Society of Applied Geophysics for the dedicated work they provided in organizing this event.
We hope that you will enjoy taking part in the presentations and discussions which will unfold over the three full days of the 11th edition of the Congress of the Balkan Geophysical Society.
Florina Tuluca
President of the Balkan Geophysical Society
