Alexander Goertz is a geophysicist with 20 years of experience mainly in technology-driven service companies. He obtained a Ph.D. in Geophysics from Karlsruhe University (Germany) in 2002. Previous work experience includes Paulsson Geophysical Services (California, USA) working on 3D VSP surveys, Spectraseis (Switzerland) working on microseismic monitoring and induced seismicity, PGS (Norway) managing marine source research and survey planning, and later as Chief Geophysicist for the Optoseis fiberoptic ocean bottom cable division. At OCTIO, his focus is on offshore real-time monitoring and drill-bit seismic applications. Alex has been involved in the SEAM Life-of-field seismic project as geophysical subcommittee chairman and is now part of SEAM’s CO2 planning group.
